I love Delicious. It’s a fantastic tool to organize data (posts) I want to be able to reference later. It’s power comes from it’s simplicity, it’s flexible, and can be used for more than just simple data collection. However, it’s flexibility also means it’s easy for it to get out of hand, and that’s why I spend several hours today fixing the last 2-3 years worth of links and in the process discovered the advanced features of Delicious, and they kick ass!
The first new piece of bad assery is that you can connect a Twitter account to Delicious to COLLECT links from a Twitter account. You can have it collect all the links you tweet, RT, favorites, or mark with #d. This is fantastic because I often forget to save the links I RT and Tweet.
Tag bundles are pretty rad. You can bundle all of your tags about “Social Media”, “SEO”, “PPC”, “Email Marketing”, etc. under one main “Internet Marketing” bundle to help keep them organized and easy to sort through.
The bulk rename is probably the most useful tool in the bunch. Without it I couldn’t have reorganized my Delicious account.
The Remove Tag is the second most useful tool. It’s a great way to remove flubbed up tags in bulk.
That’s it from me today. If you haven’t tried it do so. You won’t regret it.
Try Delicious. Love Delicious. Live Delicious!
